The Book Combo TAG

1. What two authors would you like to see put their writing skills together to write a book? I think that a combination with Jennifer L Armentrout and Holly Black could be quite cool, and they both write similar genres. I would read it in a second!!!

2. What is your favourite author collaboration? Whether it be a short story collection or just a book that the authors worked together on. I absolutely LOVED The Iron Trial, by Cassandra Clare and Holly Black. It was funny, and witty, and enchanting, and not only made me feel warm and fuzzy, but also completely nervous and scared. AMAZING!

3. If you could combine two stories and make them a book of their own, which would they be? & what would the reworked title be? I think that if Kasie West did a combination of her two books On the Fence and The Distance Between Us, it could be really cool. I feel like Cayman and Charlie could be good friends. I guess you could call it The Distance Between Our Fences.

4. What two characters from different books do you ship? I kind of think that Dee Black from the Lux series and Christian Ozera from the Vampire Academy series would make a cute couple. I mean, Christian seems so mopey and anti-social, where Dee is litteally a ball of light and energy. #Dristian. I ship it.

5. What two worlds from different stories would you like see come together to be one epic world? I have this absoloutly ludicris idea that Loki's Wolves, by K.E. Armstrong, and City of Heavenly Fire, by Cassie Clare would make an epic (and completely overbearing) combo. IDK.

6. What duology/trilogy/series would you have liked to see be combined in to one book? I think that the Trylle trilogy, by Amanda Hocking (Switched, Torn, and Ascend) were all fairly short books, and that they could be combined and refined into one epic monster!

Top 10 Book Girl Crushes (March 2015)

Last week, I posted about the sexiest, funniest, cutest, and most awkward book boyfriends that we all love. So to balance it out, this is a list of the Top 10 Book Girl Crushes; ranging from cute to kickass. Here we go...

IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER!!!!

1. Celaena Sardothien (Throne of Glass series, by Sarah J. Maas) Celaena is probably the most kickass woman I have ever had the honour of reading and experiencing. She is a strong, smart, independent woman who, again and again, shows that you don't need a man to save the day. She has experienced Hell in her short lifetime, but stays true to herself, protecting herself from the world. Protecting her secret.... Another reason to love her is because she is totally down to earth. She's your typical Girly-Girl-Meets-Dangerous-Bitch! She loves reading, shopping, long walks around the castle grounds holding a sword and bad to carry a decapitated head in...
“My name is Celaena Sardothien. But it makes no difference if my name's Celaena or Lillian or Bitch, because I'd still beat you, no matter what you call me.”

Hair: White Blonde
Eyes: Icy Blue
Occupation: Assassin
Relationship Status: I don't even want o think about it.... #TEAMDORIAN
Special Skills: Kickass assassin-y skills, never-ending wit and charm, incredibly beautiful and intimidating.
Rate Out Of 10: 9 - It will only be upgraded to a 10 of she ends up with Dorian. Sarah J. Mass, I'm looking at you.

2. Isabelle Lightwood (The Mortal Instruments series, by Cassandra Clare) Isabelle Lightwood is another amazing strong woman. Izzy never learned to cook or clean, so that she would always be seen as a fierce warrior type, so that she would never be looked down apon by males. Isabelle is a free spirit who enjoyed the company of downworlders for quite some time, before a nerd with a horrible band stole her heart. Izzy is a girly girl that would slit your throat for giving her shit. She has faced terrible truths ever since she was a child, and has vengeance lacing her heart. Learning some dark secrets as a child caused her to be scared of love, and she still tries to run from it.

"But I watch my brothers give their hearts away and I think, Don’t you know better? Hearts are breakable. And I think even when you heal, you’re never what you were before."

Hair: Black
Eyes: Very, very dark brown
Occupation: Shadowhunter
Relationship Status: DTR'd with Simon Lewis (the nerd with the horrible band)
Special Skills: Well, cooking isn't one of them. SHe is badass with a whip and can handle just about an situation with elegance and bravery.
Rate Out Of 10: 20

3. Katy Swartz (Lux series, by Jennifer L. Armentrout) Katy is the type of kickass girl that could be told aliens are real, and take it. She's also the type of girl who is tough enough to take on becoming one. She has a sparky personality, and a great body, and both of these attributes reel her Hottie-With-The-Body next door neighbour into her clutches. Katy is strong and stubborn and heroic, always wanting to save he people around her, and would do anything for the people she loves. Also, Katy has a mad obsession with books, and actuall blogs about them. KatysKrazyObsession.com

“You know, you’re right. How wrong of me to call you a douchebag. Because a douchebag is too nice of a word for you,” I said, smiling sweetly. “You’re a dickhead.”

“A dickhead?” he repeated. “How charming.”

I flipped him off."

Hair: Brown
Eyes: Grey
Occupation: Luxen Hybrid
Relationship Status: Married to Daemon Black (illegally, but whatever)
Special Skills: Telekinesis, super-human speed and healing abilities, and sarcasm that will blow you out of the water.
Rate Out Of 10: 10

4. Aurora Lahey (Divinicus Nex series, by A&E Kirk) Aurora is a badass girl on the inside, and she's DYING to let it show, but, unfortunately, the clumsy, ruin-y side keeps making appearances. She is keeping a dangerous secret from the boy she loves and the rest of her family and team, and it keeps getting people hurt, but she knows that is she tells them, they will all be separated, and she doesn't want that. Aurora is deathly dedicated to protecting those she loves. She enjoys creepy missions into underground cave systems, being incredibly average, and making out with her smokin' hot boyfriend.

"I launched into a graceful ninja-like front roll, then stood my ground to face the monstrous heathen, fearless in my determination to vanquish the deadly foe.

Nah, just kidding. I bolted, discretion being the better part of not getting dead."

Hair: Red and brown
Eyes: Green
Occupation: Divinicus Nex
Relationship Status: Official with Ayden Ishida
Special Skills: Aurora has weird dreams and visions of demons in her area and this AWESOME preassure-octopus magic stuff
Rate Out Of 10: 10

5. Sadie Kane (Kane Chronicles series, by Rick Riordan) Sadie Kane is exactly the type of ballsy, I-don't-give-a-crap-about-your-mortal-problems, kind of girl that his world needs more of. Honestly, Sadie is a character that I related to immensely, with her wits and sarcasm and her tradgic past. The only thing that Sadie has and I don't (well apart from a hot browther and a magic wand) is a love triangles. Even better, one of them is a god, and the to her is her best friend. I'd be lucky if anyone but my dog ever loved me.

"Then, finally, we were ready to charge in and save Sadie, and she rides up in a limousine driven by an ugly dwarf in a swimsuit, and she accuses us of being late.
So when she told us the dwarf was driving us to Russia, I was like, "Whatever." And I got into the car."

Hair: Blonde with red/blue/purple stripes. With this chick, who even knows?
Eyes: Light blue
Occupation: Magician and leader of Brooklyn House
Relationship Status: Dating the Egyptian god of Death and Toilet Paper. Nice.
Special Skills: The power of Isis, and mad skills with a want and hieroglyphs. Also, her sarcasm is better than Katy's.
Rate Out Of 10: 10

6. Annabeth Chase (Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus series, both by Rick Riordan) Annabeth Chase is a sassy, smart, addictive girl that taught me (and Leo) that the term "dumb blonde" is sadly and horribly mistaken. Annabeth is fierce and strong, facing her fears on a quest to save her mother and the rest of the world, and even sending her birthday in a pit of death. Annabeth is the type of inspiring person that makes me want to work for the magic in the world, to uncover it, to learn its secrets, and be a part of it. Also, her kisses are life.

"You're cute when you're worried," she muttered. "Your eyebrows get all scrunched together."
"You are not going to die while I owe you a favor," I said. "Why did you take that knife?"
"You would've done the same for me."

Hair: Blonde princess curls
Eyes: Grey like a thunderstom about to crack
Occupation: Demigod
Relationship Status: Dating Percy Jackson
Special Skills: Smart beyond beliefe, crazy good with a dagger, and fierce about her friends safety
Rate Out Of 10: 10

7. Blue Sargent (The Raven Boys quartet, by Maggie Stievatter) When I first saw Blue, I was like: "This bitch be kray." But as I read on, I was like: "You go, Glen Coco!" because she went from crazy to crazy-amazing in less time than it takes to say "crazy-amazing". She has worked her whole life to be acentric, and ad achieved it with flying colours. Blue comes from a family of psychics , bus isn't psychic herself. She has always though she was something more. When she meets a pack of rich boys with a dangerous dream, she has nothing to hold hrr back from tumbling into their world.

"In that moment, Blue was a little in love with all of them.
Their magic. Their quest. Their awfulness and strangeness.
Her raven boys."

Hair: Black and choppy
Eyes: Hazel
Occupation: Something MORE
Relationship Status: Never talk to me about this
Special Skills: enhances others ability to see the future, and makes magic stronger
Rate Out Of 10: 8

8. Layla (The Dark Elements trilogy, by Jennifer L. Armentrout) Layla is a great gal, plagued with an internal struggle about which side on the war of Good and Evil she stands on. She was raised on one side, but can't deny the other. When a demon with a hot-bod and a dark mission enters her life, she is smitten, and can't seem to untangle herself from his clutches. Layla really made me think about mysef, about all of me, even the bits I'd rather not think about. SHe made me think that it was okay to be that way, that I was okay. She made me feel welcome and safe, and I felt like she got me in a way I couldn't get myself. Layla's struggles echoed to me, and I applaud her for showing me the way.

 "If I say thank you, will you go away?"
"Yes."
"Thank you," I said eagerly.
"I lied."
"What?" I looked up at him, frowning. "That's messed up."

Hair: White blonde
Eyes: Light blue, almost white
Occupation: Demon/gargoyle
Relationship Status: It's complicated
Special Skills: Layla can see people souls, and take them with a kiss
Rate Out Of 10: 10

9. Chloe Saunders (The Darkest Powers trilogy, by Kelley Armstrong) Chloe started off as just a girl with a crazy secret and boring hair. But them BAMB! Her life became a whirlwind of crazy kids with supernatural abilities, running from the government, and falling in love with  a pack of cute brothers. Chloe is fun, outgoing, and incredibly brave. She loves everyone around her, and is a grounding presence. She made even me feel at home. I was hooked on the first chapter.

"Don't talk to the crazy kids. I longed to shout back that we weren't crazy. I'd mistaken her kid for a ghost, that's all."

Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Blue
Occupation: Necromancer
Relationship Status: Dating Derek Souza
Special Skills: Chloe can see and talk to spirits, command them, and send their spirits elsewhere
Rate Out Of 10: 8

10. Isolde [Iz-ode] Brannick (School Spirits trilogy, by Rachel Hawkins) Isolde is another one of the those badass characters that make you want to go out on the street and punch the next pale guy you see. Izzy comes from a family that lives in the middle of nowhere, and when she is sent on a mission to her very first high-school, things start to stun weird. Or even weirder...

"You knocked out Ben McCrary?' he asked, eyes wide.
'It was an accident,' I said again. 'I threw the ball harder than I meant to.'
Dex burst into laughter. 'Oh my God, that is the greatest thing I've heard all week. You are my new hero.'
Squinting at me, he leaned in and said, 'Serious, I might actually be in love with you now. Would it be awkward if we made out?"

Hair: Red
Eyes: Green
Occupation: Brannick Demon Hunter
Relationship Status: Currently fighting feeling for her newly-taken in friend Dex.
Special Skills: Izzy is crazy with a weapon, and can perform exorcism's on practically any supernatural creature
Rate Out Of 10: 9

Top 10 Book Boyfriends (March 2015)

So today I want to talk about one of the most important thing about book fandoms. BOOK BOYFRIENDS! We would be nowhere without the tall, dark, and sexy boys that litter books worldwide, and today I'd like to give thanks to those beautiful boys.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER!!!!! (because I seriously can't choose my fave)
1. Daemon Black (Lux series, by Jennifer L. Armentrout) I don't really think it's necessary for me to continue, but I will because it's Daemon Black. Personally, I like to call him Baemon Black (because he's bae), but you don't have to do that. Anyway, Daemon is one of the hottest, and I mean SIZZLIN', book characters I have ever read. He is so cool, and sexy, and so damn loving for Katy.
"Infuriated, I scrambled over him, even more furious when I saw the humored glint in his eyes. "God you tick me off."
"Well at least I got you--"
"Don't even finish that statement!"
Hair: Black (tousled and sexy)
Eyes: Green
Occupation: Luxen
Relationship Status: Currently dating Katy Shwartz (but me on the side. SHHH!)
Special Skills: Apart from Otherworldy hotness, Daemon has telekinesis, super-human speed and intelligence.
Rating Out Of 10: 10
2. Ayden Ishida (Divinicus Nex series, by A&E Kirk) I've been in love with Ayden since Aurora straddled him. Like, dayum, that girl is lucky! Ayden is the perfect mix of the bad boy/caring, protective nice guy. Ayden Ishida in 5 words: Cocky, Irresistible, Smart, Loving, Buff, and Smokin'.
"Do your parents travel a lot? Are they still married? How many in your family? How old are you? What classes do you have? Boxers or briefs? What's your GPA? Do you always go around knocking strange girls off their feet and then hammering them with a barrage of personal questions?" I finished with a cocky smile.
Tristan hid a grin behind his fist. Mr. Exotic levelled me a steady stare, a sly smile gaining momentum. "Do you always end up straddling the guys that do? And as for boxers or briefs." One hand went to his belt buckle. "I'd be happy to..."
Hair: Black
Eyes: Brown (every changing)
Occupation: Demon Hunter
Relationship Status: Not sure because I haven't finished the book
Special Skills: I KNOW YOU HAVE FIRE POWERS, AYDEN! DON'T HIDE IT FROM ME!!
Rating Out Of 10: 10
3. Percy Jackson (Percy Jackson & the Olympians series, and Heroes of Olympus series, by Rick Riordan) So, I think it's safe to say that my love for Percy knows no bounds. PERCY WAS THE ORIGINAL BOYFRIEND! It's true, PJO was the first series I ever completed and was tragically sad that it was over, and Perseus Jackson was the first fictional boy I ever loved enough to draw fanart for. Percy is funny, and cute, and he can literally bring light to any situation.
"Why can't you place a blessing like that on us?" I asked.
"It only works on wild animals."
"So it would only affect Percy," Annabeth reasoned.
"Hey!" I protested."
Hair: Black (becoming a theme here?)
Eyes: Sea Green
Occupation: Demigod
Relationship Status: Dating Annabeth Chase (AKA. me)
Special Skills: Control over water, and can speak to horses
Rating Out Of 10: 10
4. Will Herondale (The Infernal Devices, by Cassandra Clare) I have been head-over-heels since the first mention of a purple sky raining porcupines. Will is the kind of infectious boy that you will never get over. Ever. I still have a book hangover from William Herondale, and it's bee about 6 months. Will is the epitome of all boyfriends, and he makes me cry to think about. He's the most romantic man I've ever read, and he had experienced so much anguish, that you just need him to have a happy ending!!!!
"And to the devil with it if she is!" said the Consul. "One girl, who is not Nephilim, is not, cannot, be our priority."
"She is
my priority!" Will shouted."
Hair: Black (definitely a pattern)
Eyes: Sapphire Blue
Occupation: Shadowhunter
Relationship Status: Forever in love with and together with Tessa Gray
Special Skills: Can handle any weapon, is great at composing cute little songs about demon AIDS, and rune powers.
Rating Out Of 10: 100000! (They are all becoming 10's as well)
5. Dorian Havilliard (Throne of Glass series, by Sarah J. Maas) Ever since Celaena said that she hated Dorian (a sad and misguided decision *shakes head*) I HAVE LOVED HIM!!! He's so sweet, and caring, and he just wants Celaena to be safe and happy, but he knows that she is responsibe for her own life. He just gets it, and I love that.
"She haunted his thoughts, made him wish to do grand and wonderful things in her name."
Hair: Black (I swear I'm not doing it on purpose)
Eyes: Green
Occupation: Prince of Adarlan
Relationship Status: I haven't read HOF yet, but HE BETTER STILL BE SINGLE!
Special Skills: Has some sort of mysterious magic abilities
Rating Out Of 10: 9.5
6. Roth (White Hot Kiss series, by Jennifer L. Armentrout) There's nothing more tempting than a forbidden relationship, and that's exactly what Layla and Roth are. Forbidden. SO SEXY!!! Roth (or as I've taken to calling him, Rothenburger) is the Prince of Hell, so he's kind of supposed to be evil, but he's so not. He is loving and kind and protective and fierce, and he makes my heart crumble up into desert pieces. Lovely.
"You almost got plowed by a cab. And if you want to get plowed, I will gladly volunteer my services. I promise you I’ll be a lot—”
“Don’t even finish that sentence.”
“It was just an offer."
Hair: Black (holy damn)
Eyes: ARGGGHHH! I can't remember!!! D;
Occupation: Upper-Level Demon, Prince of Hell
Relationship Status: Heart-crushingly not with Layla
Special Skills: Demonic abilities, and something to do with brimstone and fire
Rating Out Of 10: 10
7. David Stark (Rebel Belle series, by Rachel Hawkins) I've never read a hipster before, but Harper's explanation painted a beautiful picture. Plus, David was heart-warmingly charming and nerdy throughout the book, and that did pliantly to tug on my heartstrings. He was charismatic, consistent, and proud throughout the book, especially with his style, and his original relationship with Harper only made the couple that more endearing!
So I forced myself to smile even bigger at David and said, “Nope, just in a hurry. Are you, uh… are you here for the dance?”
He snorted. “Um, no. I’d rather slam my testicles in a locker door. I have some work to do on the paper."
Hair: Blonde (FINALLY!)
Eyes: Blue or Brown
Occupation: SPOILER! Oracle
Relationship Status: Dating Harper Price
Special Skills: Killer style and he can see the future....ish
Rating Out Of 10: 7
8. Warner Anderson (Shatter Me series, by Tahera Mafi) Warner started out kind of bitchy, and I LOVE THAT! He was rude to Juliette, told her she smelled, and he kidnapped her. How romantic? Anyway, Warner started off being seen as a villain, but quickly redeemed himself. He went from being snobby, rude, evil, and intimidating, to being a caring, detailed, SEX BOMB with a passion for fashion.
“Lift your hips for me, love.”
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Green
Occupation: Base Commander (I have no idea what it's actually called)
Relationship Status: Dating Juliette Ferrars
Special Skills: As I said earlier, Warner had a passion for fashion, so intense that a Bratz doll would be impressed.
Rating Out Of 10: 10
9. Derek Souza (Darkest Powers trilogy, by Kelley Armstrong) When the Summoning started, Derek was seen as a pretty scary guy, who had terrible BO, wore baggy clothes, and had horrible acne. Though, as the book rounded off, we found out that he wore the clothes to seem more approachable, and that the BO and acne were uncontrollable effects of his Wolfish blood. He is brooding, tall and impossible cute. Kryptonite for a fangirl like me.
“He was trying to tell me something.'
Derek snorted. 'Aren’t they all? Must be a rule in the ghost handbook—if in danger of evaporating, make sure you’re in the middle of a dire pronouncement.”
Hair: Black (here we go again)
Eyes: Green
Occupation: Werewolf
Relationship Status: Dating Chloe Saunders
Special Skills: Werewolf powers, can turn into a wolf, heightened senses
Rating Out Of 10: 10
10. Simon Lewis (The Mortal Instruments series, by Cassandra Clare) When I first started the series, I though Simon was a useless roadblock, getting in the way of Clace. However, after COA (book 2), Simon became one of my most favourite characters ever!!! He's the cutest, geekiest, most lovable characters out there, and if you haven't read TMI yet, you need to. DO IT FOR SIMON!
'My mother seems to have accepted it,' Alec said. 'But my father — no, not really. Once he asked me what I thought had turned me gay.'
'I hope you told him you were bitten by a gay spider,' said Simon.
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Brown
Occupation: Shadowhunter/Guitarist
Relationship Status: Needs to DTR with Isabelle Lightwood
Special Skills: Well, the ability to come up with a good band name is not one of them.
Rating Out Of 10: 10,00000000000000000000000 (at least I put one comma)
